Defintely has some funky riffs...

first off I have to say I'm lovin the pitch offsets on your saws and the LFO pitch bends on that res lead. I feel that there might be a bit to much res on the lead though. I think the transitions are a little awkward to. I would try making some nice drum fill or verb the helll out of a synth for a transition in this style and try to make each part come with a little more ease. Arps are cool, and variety of sounds used are very nice. I would put some more high pass sounds on your rhythm synth, so more layers on those sounds could really beef this track up. Some Ducking would be awesome against the rhythm synth too add that bounce for the house feel. Good stuff you got here, i'm diggin it. keep up the good work!

Lets see if I still have the review gene in me....

Forgive my rustiness but I have been through worlds of distractions these past months.

Well, I see you haven't tried changing your style that much. I would be able to tell this was your song from a mile away (or 1.60934 Km away) which is definitely a good thing. That style is you, your mark on the music world. At times it does get a little clustered but it's not anything that can distract a listener. Like the drums though, cool little set you have going on here. like the little flange on it to. The lead is kind of sharp at times, you might want to put a compressor on it or toy with the compression a bit more if there is already one on it. You could try working with the attack and decay of that synth to to maybe edge that sound in a little easier. Progressions are so happy and well made though. It sounds like you use the same scale in every one of your songs, now maybe that is just your thing but it couldn't hurt to change it up every now and then. I'm not going to say anything about the length of this song because I have listened to this song through and through a few times now and it hasn't gotten old. So it is a very replayable track which is another plus. You really do have a nice song in this one with some classic bass patterns and most delightful melodies. Some level work and a constant familiar sound through out the track could improve this one some more. So that's what I got, my opinions and suggestions wrapped up in this little review as a Halloween gift, do with it as you will. Have a happy end to October, and eat as many pies, cakes, apples, pumpkin seeds, and any other sweets you can get your hands on. One more tip, ALWAYS EAT THE LAST PIECE OF PIE.

FairSquare responds:

Yes, you have the review gene still in you :p
And the opinions on the drums are varied, but i'm glad you like them ^^
Thanks for this halloween gift, it really helps :-)
Oh, and i wanted to eat the last piece of pie, but some stupid cat already eated it :(
Thanks for the review! :D

I love this song...

By Author do you mean Marty O' Donnel?

Thanks

another great song for the jam box.

Nice Title

There isn't to much going on here, but I think the trance bass isn't that good of a fit for the amen break. The gate was a nice idea to try and generate some rhythm. Flanged out drums at the start where a nice addition as well. Explore and experiment with wav creation, harmonics, FX, and you can definitely do some damage in the biz. You definitely have a feel for the genre it just needs to be expanded.

If you read the date, this is from early 08. This is ooooooold. :D

To Ripe

It's an oldie, and we know now that you take quality over loudness. Really cool schemes and sounds though. I thought the samples were awesome and when you could hear the drums they are awesome.

Shank you, my fren. lol.

Ha, YES!

This is some spooky and funky shit. Love the oldskool sounding Jupiter leads and the 303 is shweeet. I would have loved it even more with some more res and a higher cut off frequency on the bass. Some delay on the rising synth at the end of each measure would have been cool to hear as well. Crush, Flange and Mod that bass! Awesome submission, I'll wait patiently for the final.

Demeanor-Ice-Creamer responds:

Thanks for the review!

The finished song is now up!

I've spent loads of time making the sound crystal, so I hope you like it!

Nice

The thing that I really liked about this one was the harmonic sounding lead, love the res. Drums were pretty sweet, I have no stance on the weird sounding white noise stuff going on in place of your rides. Solos, gotta love the solos, kudos. The only major problem is that there is no bass. You can honestly get lost in the lead progression. well, til next time.

Great Track

I listened to it all day playing Lint so I have nothing bad to say. Great job and keep it up. I got a record time in that game! but my score didn't register 3min 4sec :'(
that's the only thing I'm upset about.

oh, loved the deep pads near the end

Great, man! Thanks. I don't know anything about Lint glitches. You might need to contact the developer with that question.

Not to Shabby

The drum loop/pattern needs to be quantized and you need to compress some of your sounds because it is drowning out your set and your getting a lot of clippings/static. A little to much shuffle at parts. Don't be afraid to break of from the 2 step beat too. Sounds like you would be a better trance music producer. tone down and EQ throughout especially around 3:10-3:15, your transitions synths are way to loud. The lead that kind of sounds like a pendulum riff needs to be more focal (turn down the saw.) try using some ghost notes on your snares, layer your set, and use more variation in you hit hat patterns.

I liked the lively trance bass, DnB basses get boring sometimes. Would have been cool if you bit crushed the bass and took of the portamento to get a Spor'ish shuffle rhythm synth going. I'm glad you took the time to step out of the comfort zone and put this out there. Learning new music genres only make you better. Keep up the good work, I bet the next one will be twice as good.
