Im with Helth on this one

But I think I am enjoying this more than he is. Have you released my inner child again? Well...probably not, I think I am liking this more than usual because you tried some new styles in this and you didn't use that same progression that I always hear in your songs. Changing the progression style up brings a whole new look to you as an artist and it really recaptures me as one of your listeners. I like how you changed it up on this one and great job with the drums and everything else. Now if only I had a field I could frolic through...DAMN YOU SUBURBIA!!!!!!!!!

FairSquare responds:

Haha, yeah, i really tried to make something this time. Normally i just make an intro and build on that, but this time i actually made a loop and build things around that :P
Also, i didn't expect you would like this so much. But that's not a bad thing :P
Anyway, thanks for the review! :-)
Now go back to your pirateship, where you belong :P

Very Nice

This is a very detailed and refined piece of dark and almost mystical sounds. I don't know about that cowbell though...

great piece anyhow keep up the good work!

tijnn responds:

I actually think the cowbell is cool xD i really think it gives the song a nice touch, maybe releases it from that dark environment.

Thanks for the review!

Calm my mind...

Excellent song, Listened to this a couple days ago but never got the chance to review. when the hats kick in with the drums it really brings a great feel to the song. Plus, the saw/square lead is awesome with the delay when that comes in (you can just space out.) The song is just a good song, it's 3:45 in the morning where I am right now and I just decided to make this the last song of the day. Nice job and keep up the good work.

thanks dude ^^
nice to hear some compliments by someone who definitely has some serious experience in musicmaking

Awesome...

Lovin' the vocal break, drums sound great and I like the basic wav leads. Progressions where out of this world and the use of the symphony was great, I would expect nothing less from waterflame. This certainly does have a epic feel to it. I just got to the bells, those sound awesome, makes this even more epic. the slow break is one of my favorite parts about this track. I love slow drum breaks in just about every song so that really locked in my opinion about this track.

Amazing song, keep up the good work,

Waterflame responds:

Thank you! :D it means alot. glad you noticed the little things. i really tried to fusion the styles into one flow witout it sounding out of place

Amazing...

What are these quotes from? this is hilarious!

Not bad...

I like it a lot, i think the bass frequency could be upped a bit to cut out the muddy sound. you might want to put a little more fx on those drums too, they sound a little "default." I like the progression style and build here and how everything is introduced. Just a little more EQ and FX work and you have yourself a nice song. This isn't Drum and bass though, so you might want to put it in trance before someone gives it a zero for the wrong genre.

Thanks!
I will try to make it better!
And i have putted it into Trance now =)

Thanks for the review!

Excellent Work.

I usually don't listen to many piano songs except when I hear them in movies or games or something. I have to say though this piece is outstanding. It held my attention all the way through and the little flam like notes were awesome. (like at 2:40 there was a few, I have no idea what you call them, but I guess they are kind of like a flam on a snare so I just called them that.) I could have used a little more accompaniment, but that might be my style of music talking. I am trying to think how a brighter piano would sound in here, that might sound cool as well, but I definitely like the warm feel to it. Very sad song, overpowering, it is like a dying wish. The cymbals felt a little out of place though, maybe a longer more subtle sounding cymbal would fit more. That is all I can really think of for this one. So I didn't really give you any criticisms, just a bunch of personal opinions and takes on the song. But I think this piece is almost perfect as is.

Fantastic work, keep it up, good to hear from ya, see you around...

Zero123Music responds:

Thank you very much for the review,

Yeah I know what you mean by flam notes- I use them alot lately xD

I tried to make this a piano song, with only a few instruments accompanying it, If I could the cymbal would have been alot longer, I'm not really satisfied with the cymbal, but there's so much you can do with free stuff ;P

thanks again

Hey its a trance song!?

From dnb to trance you seem to have the rule book on all the genres these days. i think i like this more than you rose songs too. The gated synths really threw this song over the top for me, they just felt amazing. not much to say about the drums but it trance drums so yea...they sounded good though. That acoustic guitar sounded amazing too [how'd you get that sound?] Another great song, dl'd, 5'd, you know the routine.

NemesisTheory responds:

it's because I have a love for music in general XD i think the only things i cant (wont?) do are stuff like death metal or something... i would probably go crazy trying to do something like that XD

and yep.. the drums are just simple and clean really, and that guitar is from a really cool plugin I fond... add some cool filters and it sound so good XD

thanks for the review, mark(s)! :)

Well, I am tired...

But I'm not feeling this as a bedtime piece, then again maybe I am. I am thinking of like the stars when I hear this which I guess could be associated to bedtime or sleepiness. If you want a song with more of a lazy feel to it though you should probably use more sounds with a high attack and a lower decay and songs with a softer timbre and less brightness. Anyways how about I review this thing?

I don't know if you have changed your samples up yet because this sounds like the same old set, nothing wrong with a good thing I guess but may I suggest some low pass filters for a soothing effect. I like the delay on the pianos, they give off a peaceful feel. That is what I would say is the overall feel, peaceful. I like the beat but I think that snare should be tightened up a bit. progressions are nice and this song is easy to get into and enjoy. I actually think this song is really appealing to the listener and for that I am going to bump up my rating to nine stars. If I were making the song I would have put in a long ambient break, just with pads and completely re-verb'd out sounds with your piano and stuff. I don't know if I liked how you ended on the open hat but I guess it was quiet enough to go without saying. This is reminding me of like reading rainbow and all those cheesey kid shows back in the early 90s late 80s. I think you could use some resonance automations on your pad some filter automations too. Give it a evolving feel to it and really tease the ears of your listeners. A good thing about this track is that is actually structured well, opposed to my songs, this actually has an intro! something I have yet to accomplish lol. I am going to start taking notes off you MH16, I think I have already heard some good ideas for structuring songs and what not.

Back to the review, I would like to hear some life in this but I don't know if that is something that you would want to go for as this is supposed to be a mellow song. But, I think that there is a medium somewhere between interesting and mellow. A perfect balance that will really enthrall your listeners. You almost have it here, maybe the res and filter work will find that balance too. Like I always say FX and filter work and experiment..blah bla bla, you know the deal. Great job with this one though, keep up the good work and I can't wait to hear the next one!

FairSquare responds:

First of all: you are not Brad Pitt. I am Brad Pitt and you are Matt Damon :P
Seriously!
Anyway, about your review:
Actually, i used different drum samples. I understand that you can't hear the difference though, they sound a lot like eachother :P
Oh, and i didn't really try to make this a bedtime piece, i just gave it that title because it made me sleepy XD
And yeah, at the moment i'm really working at structering my songs. First i just made a little melody and just builded on it, but now i try to really... structure a song without that it's repeating constantly.
Well, thanks for the review. Alot of interesting ideas and advice as always and i really appreciate that :-)
Thanks Matt! :D
MH16

I'll give this a listen!

I thought it was cool. I liked a lot of things in this track from the little beeps in the background to the fat ass snare rolls! I think some reverse snares could have made this even bigger than it is (if that is even possible.) Different is good! very good in your case, you should probably say where you got the samples from though don't want to be accused of stealing stuff. And if you made them then god damn I am going to have to force you to take a bow. I am running out of things to say so I will leave you with a nice job sir and I will be looking forward to hearing some more stuff from you in the future.
