Wow...

This can be a really really good song but it sounds way to compressed, and it sounds like you filtered the whole song through an LP filter. I mean if it wasn't so distorted, and if you had cleaned things up a bit we are looking at a whole new, and really, really fresh song. There is just way to much bass. there are massive amounts of re verb and I am getting a whole bunch of clippings.

On the positive side the theory and composition of the song seemed to be spot on. Overall the drums weren't too bad. I would have liked hearing more drum breaks and fills. and I'm sure that you will be producing some high end stuff in the near future. Good luck and have a good one.

A Silent Piece...A Monsterous Piece...A Bit Much?

I can picture this in a commercial for background music (the beginning at least). I would have brought in a lighter sounding lead around 2 min, the guitar was a little overpowering. Everything sounds like it would sound very good live but the recording and quality of this song is rather low. Some parts of this song I found to be awkward and distracting and some parts I found peaceful and soothing while some parts were just poorly recorded and mastered. I was thrown all over the place with this submission, and this is definitely a piece you have to be ready to listen to because some of the changes are rather abrupt. try introducing instruments slower so you can give time for your listener to adjust. Most is not all of the piano progressions were nice and this constant factor give me an "anchor'' so to speak through out the song. As the song was introduced it felt as if it was going to have a feel similar to that of The Pixies which some parts did. Overall though I feel that this is a good song and like I said before if I were to hear this live with quality sounds and instruments I am sure that I would enjoy it very much. Nice submission and I know that you are going to keep getting better so just keep on doing what you like do do and maybe take into account some of the things that I have said here and improve. By the way the intro was my favorite part, if you could take out the white noise in the background I would have really really liked it. Good job though and I hope to hear more from you.

Thatd be swell, however ive almost beat it by now

MMmmm...

Damn, nice work with your drums, those fills kick ass. great job! I would have liked to see a little more variation in the rhythm or progressions or something to hold your listeners attention. Funk songs you would usually make slight variations on your chords in the progressions, little ones though so you can barely hear the change. You guys did a steller job on the drum fills and ghost notes etc. really fits the funk genre.

good submission

Niice!

I don't know if Rob Dougan had anything to do with the title but this song is surely in the Rob Dougan alley, which is great. Diggin the strings, great composition and amazing feel to the song. Good stuff and keep up the crazy music.
ha, just got to the change at the end. Sounds like a little "Furious Angels" riff at the end. Or at least the cello strings do. Okay well I leave you to your work, good luck and keep'em coming.

Ahhh Yeeah...

Great song, I love this jazzy style of yours! I mean it is just astonishing how this song hits me. The stand up bass sounds awesome! the piano was so chill, along with the horns. the only thing that I would have done was introduce the hats or whatever it was that came in at :29 seconds or so, or maybe turned them down a little. I have to agree with you here too, this would be a great song for a title or loading screen. that's it for now, have a good one.

Really good for something that isn't finished

The more I hear the more I like it. I think your drums can use a little more definition, the sound kind of faded (but that's probably how you wanted it so just ignore that) try mixin up the hits on your ride and maybe add some bell ride hits too make it sound more realistic. That is it for the constructive criticism part.

I liked it a lot...The piano was cool, had kind of a jazzy feel to it. I like the key your in too, whatever it is. The spacey lead was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G added a great feel to the track. I'm falling asleep listening to this. keep up the good work, I'll be looking forward to the final version of this song. I actually took this review seriously too thats why I am giving you a nine and not a ten.

In depth, I like that.

Thank you.

This is very unusual...

I think this is a very strange mixture of hits, acid, and low-passed pads but I guess it worked. All the synths sound pretty good too, the drum chops and fills are excellent though, that was the deciding factor for me. I loved your hi-hat work a lot of the time people don't work with the hi-hat, glad to hear you did.

this music is actually interesting to listen to too, other than all the stupid trance songs that are trying to take over with their kick-snare-kick-snare drum beats(gay) and people trying to put retarded vocal tracks over there songs that sound totally unprofessional which make me want to jump of a cliff with a rope tied around my neck.

This song kind of reminds me of the Egyptian level in 007 for nes64, but really distorted and overpowering. Overall, I say a very interesting submission to listen to. though this clearly is not drum and bass I suppose it is the closest thing you can label it as on Newgrounds. But who cares what it is labeled as its a song and a good one at that. Keep up the good work and sorry if I offended you with the trance thing I said, I don't even know what I am typing nor what is going on.

Awesome VG DnB...

gotta love the chippy elements to this song, two thumbs up for that.

Some constructive criticism though, if you want to make your songs more interesting try varying the Hi Hat and get it to mesh in with your snare, because the hi hat was just doing constant 16th notes it kind of got boring on the drum side. just saying that though because this is under DnB, any other genre and you can pass with that drum beat.

Now for what I liked in the song. Wow, I mean just WOW the synths in this song were amazing and I honestly loved the spacey lead and the chippy sounds. I could listen to the synths in this song till my head explodes and I would die happy. bass progressions were sweet too, and the pitch bends on the synthesizers were awesome. the arps were good, the arrangement was good, cymbal working was pretty good, the mastering and level work was pretty good too. So overall I say great submission and keep it coming because I will surely listen to your upcoming stuff, so much potential and it will just keep getting better.
